Sponsor a Stitch – Royal School of Needlework

Our chapter is sponsoring a stitch for the Royal School of Needlework. We need to raise £300 ($410 US). The project will continue until we raise the needed funds. The first step is to decide which stitch we wish to sponsor. The choices are:

Sienese
Tent Trammed (Beadwork)
Treble Leviathan
Sienese
Treble Leviathan
  1. Sienese – This stitch consists of parallel straight stitches, each of which is embellished with a detached buttonhole stitch. Together they form a wide textured line. Sienese can also be used as an isolated stitch.

  2. Tent Trammed (Beadwork) – This version of tent stitch is worked by threading a bead onto the working thread before making each stitch; once a length has been worked, the thread is taken through the beads to hold them firmly together.

  1. Treble Leviathan – Canvaswork stitch that forms a textured square rosette pattern. It is created by working sets of three angled stitches from each corner of a soiree into the center to form rosettes. The gaps between them are filled with upright cross stitches.
