Do I Need to Bring Anything?

In short: No. You don’t need a project, a needle, or any special supplies to attend your first meeting. Many people come just to watch the program and see what needlepoint is all about.

  • If you have a project: Feel free to bring it!
  • If you are brand new: Just bring yourself. We often have “getting started” materials available for those who want to try a few stitches.

What Happens During the Meeting?

Our meetings are relaxed and typically follow this flow:

  1. Welcome & Socializing: A low-pressure time to meet other members and see what everyone is working on.
  2. Business Meeting: Board members highlight current and future activities. It’s a short meeting leaving plenty of time for socializing, stitching and the program.
  3. The Program: A short demonstration, guest speaker, or technique lesson. We make sure our Zoom participants can see and hear the presentation clearly.
  4. Show-and-Tell: An optional time for members to share their recent finishes (we love seeing “first-ever” projects just as much as expert ones!).
  5. Chapter News: A brief update on upcoming workshops or guild events.

Three Things to Know

  1. Observation is Welcome: You are never “put on the spot.” You are welcome to sit back, listen, and learn.
  2. No Experience Required: We mean it. We love teaching the craft to people who have never held a needle.
  3. Hybrid Inclusion: If you join via Zoom, you aren’t just a fly on the wall. You can ask questions, participate in discussions, and share your work during show-and-tell.
